Quilt Store anyone?

Our usual routine... out of bed, coffee on the lanai & some good conversation. Some planning for the day includes a quilt shop expedition along with a pub lunch thrown in for good measure.

Simone was off on her morning ride as Hugh & Sheila created a nice breakfast for us. Croissants with poached egg, ham & avocado.

Kelly, Hugh and I walked over towards the hotel as there was a geocache out on a small island.  It was a QEF (Quick, Easy Find) and then we proceeded towards the Parker Cottage. Once at the beach area, we walked in behind the lagoons and stop at several benches to enjoy the views.

Trees filled with Cattle Egrets... look closely

Back at the villa, we planned a trip into Kona to a couple quilt shops and stop at Costco.

Off to the quilt shops in Kona. A quick stop at the bottle recycling place near Costco then a 15 minute drive to the Keauhou Shopping Center.  Sheila and Kelly went in while we wandered the shops. Bought a book that interested me.

We then hopped on the main waterfront drive of Alii Highway and followed it northbound through the town of Kona. We endured our first downpour since our arrival while we waited for the quilt store shoppers. Another quick stop at a second quilting store before heading to Costco for a few items. . We were so close we thought it prudent to grab some items now.

A 50 minute drive back to the Mauna Lani Villa and we had some snacks etc. and a cool beverage. Kelly face-timed with Lauren & Harper and got caught up with family news.

A crib game broke out and Hugh managed to win both games this evening.

Dinner was bbq'ed chicken with pasta and salad. All very tasty. We watched some Australian Open tennis games before retiring for the evening.
