Our Last Day :-(

Coffee on the lanai and a call to my dad who turns 90 today! He is having family in for a Chinese dinner tonight followed by an ice cream cake.

Hugh & Simone are still laying low but we are charging through as best we can with the same head & chest cold.

Breakfast was scrambled eggs & diced ham on toast. This was followed by some initial packing and organizing clothes for the trip home.... shorts then swim trunks, back to shorts and finally some pants for the flight home tonight.

A walk around the point was in order so off we went. taking the longest route possible. We went through the Mauna Lani Auberge, along the shoreline, past Parker's Cottage & the snorkel beach and then around the point to the golf course. Big waves were rolling in and we are expecting high winds as the the day progresses.

Snorkel Beach

We found a nice spot to rest and re-hydrate and spotted numerous whales off in the distance. Unfortunately it was too far to capture on the camera.

Once back at the villa, we changed into our swim gear and headed to the pool area adjacent to the BBQ Station.  We relaxed for an hour or so and then the winds came up so it was our signal to leave.

Showers and some more packing for us.  Several crib games to determine the champion where played and it looks like... I will reign supreme for this trip.  Both of my wins came with skunks to Kelly by one point... poor gal.

Flight notification... 30 minutes late now.....

Dinner is chicken thighs and Caesar Salad.  Another group effort.

Our flight was scheduled to depart at 11:30 this evening so we will stop for gas and then drop everyone at the terminal before returning the car.

Dishes washing, final pack, Kelly showering and we were off to the airport

A bit of a runaround as the Texaco gas station located close to the airport was closed on our arrival. Bummer/ We went a little bit farther into town and found an open one.

After topping up the rental car, I dropped everyone at the terminal and took the rental back. Easy check out and I was on the Budget/AVis  shuttle bus back.

A quick check in and we went through security.  A tad late departing but we made it up on route.

Steps: 8,500 and counting...

Weather: Scattered cloud in the am with light winds turning to overcast with 20-25Kt Northerly winds and rain!!! 25ºC down to 21ºC in the late afternoon & early evening.

Crib wins..... Dave - 8, Hugh - 5 and Kelly - 2
